Rare Perfection 10 Year Old is a Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey bottled by Preservation Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. The 2026 release is a cask-strength bourbon distilled in 2016 and aged 10 years, bottled at 130.7 proof (65.35% ABV), with a classic Kentucky bourbon mash bill of at least 51% corn rounded out by rye and malted barley.
Preservation Distillery is the operation of Marci Palatella, who built her reputation in the 1980s and 1990s by tracking down forgotten, long-aged American whiskey barrels and bottling them under her own labels - Very Old St. Nick and Old Man Winter among them. Rare Perfection is the modern continuation of that thread, with a bourbon line and a Canadian whisky line both built for collectors who want older, harder-to-find pours. The bottles are released in tiny one-to-three-barrel batches.
The 10 Year Old Green Label is a specific subset within the Rare Perfection program. These barrels were originally evaluated for the Rare Perfection 8 Year Old release, then personally selected by Marci and Master of Maturation Kyle Lloyd to continue aging through two additional Kentucky summer cycles before bottling at full strength. The result is a focused, single-purpose release rather than a large vatting.
On the nose, it shows oatmeal raisin cookies dusted with confectioners sugar, fresh peaches, dried roses, vanilla bean, and clove, with a brief savory turn toward sage before returning to cinnamon, chocolate, and graham cracker. The palate brings fresh peach pie and dried cherry layered with charred oak, dark caramel, sponge cake, fig jam, candied violet, and candied ginger, building into a long cola-like close.
