Release Guide

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Tasters.

A year-by-year cheat sheet for the wheated allocated.

Every Jack Daniel's Tennessee Tasters release is an experiment. Where most allocated whiskey lives or dies by tradition, the Tasters program lives by the opposite impulse: high-rye mash bills, toasted oak finishes, hickory-smoked Tennessee whiskey, barrel-rested ryes, recipes pulled from the back of the book and dusted off. Each release is curated by the distillery's Master Tasters team, bottled at 375ml, and put out in small enough numbers that you usually get one shot at it.

For collectors and enthusiasts, that's the point. A barrel-rested rye doesn't drink like a high-angels-share bourbon; a hickory-smoked Tennessee whiskey is a different proposition from a twin-mash blend. Below is the working reference we keep at Cana, every Tennessee Tasters release in order, with proof, age, mash bill, and the finishing details that explain what's actually in each bottle.

How to read this table

Proof is bottle proof, uncut and unfiltered. Age is years and months from the day it entered the barrel to the day it was bottled. Warehouse is the rickhouse letter where the barrels matured — multiple letters mean a release was a blend of barrels from more than one rickhouse. Floor is the floor (or floors) those barrels rested on. Higher floors run hotter and yield more aggressive evaporation; lower floors are cooler and slower.
