Redemption The Ancients 18 Year 109.9 Proof (54.95% ABV) is a highly allocated, straight rye whiskey produced as an ultra-aged limited release by the Redemption Whiskey Co. This 2017 inaugural expression in the Ancients collection utilizes a specialized mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, representing some of the oldest surviving rye stocks in North America. Originally distilled in 1998 at the MGP Distillery in Indiana, the liquid matured for 18 years in new charred American oak barrels within the historic brick warehouses of Lawrenceburg.
This evolutionary process yields a rich and complex profile of dark chocolate, toasted oak, and wildflower honey, balanced by a deep undercurrent of star anise and black pepper with an exceptionally long, warming finish.
