Old Forester 117 Series High Angels' Share (Batch 002) is a 110 Proof (55% ABV) straight bourbon produced as a limited distillery release at the Brown-Forman Shively Distillery (DSP-KY-354). This 2021 release in the 117 Series utilizes the classic distillery mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Unlike the inaugural batch, this second iteration focuses on low-yield barrels pulled specifically from Warehouse K, a location known for its unique airflow and heat-cycling properties.
These barrels experienced high evaporation rates, leaving behind a highly concentrated spirit that underwent intense wood interaction. The resulting profile is dense and rich, featuring notes of dark chocolate, burnt sugar, and a heavy oak influence, balanced by the signature Old Forester baking spice and a long, drying finish.
