This technical expression is built on a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. The maturation profile consists of an initial aging period in new charred American white oak followed by a secondary finishing stage in 60-gallon ruby port wine casks. This specific 2015 batch was hand-selected from rare barrels that exhibited the necessary structural integrity to withstand the high-proof bottling.
Produced at the Angel’s Envy Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, this 2015 release was limited to a total allocation of 7,500 bottles. The presentation includes the signature blown-glass bottle featuring the brand’s iconic angel wings, housed in a premium, handcrafted wooden display case. The interaction between the high-ethanol spirit and the port-soaked staves during the final months of maturation creates a distinct chemical profile rich in dark fruit esters and wood-derived tannins.
