Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Bourbon is a highly allocated, 107 Proof (53.5% ABV) limited-edition straight bourbon released in June 2024. As the flagship of a new series focused on "radical transparency," this spirit documents the entire production chain from seed selection to bottling. Distilled in 2017, the bourbon features a high-rye mash bill of 52% corn, 35% rye, and 13% malted barley—a significant departure from Heaven Hill's traditional 10% rye recipe. The grain is centered on the Beck’s 6158 corn varietal, a high-starch hybrid grown by Peterson Farms specifically for its distillation performance in Central Kentucky.
Produced at the Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, the whiskey was aged for over six years in Rickhouse W3 (Floors 3, 4, and 5) at the Cox's Creek site. The elevated rye content, nearly triple that of standard Heaven Hill bourbons, creates a chemical profile defined by sharp spice and robust orchard fruit esters. The technical presentation features a 700ml bottle with non-chill filtered liquid, highlighting notes of fresh apples, pears, and a lingering peppery oak finish that showcases the unique characteristics of the identity-preserved grain.
