Woodford Reserve 2020 Batch Proof is a 123.6 Proof (61.8% ABV) cask-strength bourbon produced at the Woodford Reserve Distillery. This third entry in the series utilizes the distillery's standard mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, triple-distilled in copper pot stills. Maturation occurred in new American white oak barrels crafted at the Brown-Forman Cooperage, featuring a specific toasting process followed by a heavy char.
These barrels were aged in heat-cycled stone warehouses, where elevated temperatures facilitated a deep extraction of barrel sugars. The technical profile is uncut and unfiltered, yielding a high ester concentration. The structure is characterized by a dense mouthfeel with a nose of dried herbs and dark fruit, a palate of toasted oak and rich cocoa, and a finish of baking spice and vanilla.
