Woodford Reserve 2019 Batch Proof is a 123.2 Proof (61.6% ABV) cask-strength expression produced at the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky. This release utilizes the distillery's core mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, which is triple-distilled in copper pot stills. Maturation occurred in proprietary barrels crafted at the Brown-Forman Cooperage, featuring a specific 10-minute toast followed by a heavy #4 char.
These barrels were aged in heat-cycled stone warehouses to maximize the extraction of wood sugars and vanillin. The technical profile is uncut and unfiltered, preserving a high concentration of barrel esters. The structure is defined by a dense, oily mouthfeel with a nose of dried apricot and dark honey, a palate of toasted oak and clove, and a finish of peppermint and espresso.
