The 2013 Maker's Mark Dan Issel Keeneland is a 90 Proof (45% ABV) limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon released in April 2013 as the 17th installment of the annual charitable bottle series. This high-intent collectible bourbon honors Dan Issel, a Hall of Fame basketball legend and the all-time leading scorer for the University of Kentucky. This charitable release consisted of 20,000 numbered bottles, with proceeds estimated at $175,000 benefiting the Gill Heart Institute at UK HealthCare to support cardiovascular medicine.
The technical presentation features a 1-Liter frosted glass bottle with a signature blue wax seal and a label depicting Issel in action. While utilizing the distillery’s core wheated mash bill, this bottling was engineered specifically for the annual Keeneland Spring Meet bottle signing event. Maturation followed the traditional hand-rotated barrel process at the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky, making this release a primary target for Big Blue Nation fans and sports-heritage collectors
