The Maker's Mark Rupp's Runts Keeneland is a 90 Proof (45% ABV) limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon released in April 2006 to honor the 1953–54 undefeated University of Kentucky basketball team. This high-intent collectible bourbon commemorates the squad famously known as "Rupp's Runts," who finished their season 25-0 under legendary coach Adolph Rupp. This charitable release consisted of 18,000 numbered bottles, with proceeds benefiting the University of Kentucky Basketball Museum and the UK men's basketball program.
The technical presentation features a 1-Liter bottle with a signature blue and white wax seal and a specialized label depicting the historic team. While utilizing the distillery’s core wheated mash bill, this bottling was engineered specifically for the annual Keeneland Spring Meet bottle signing event. Maturation followed the traditional hand-rotated aging process at the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. This release remains a primary target for Big Blue Nation historians and collectors of rare sports-heritage spirits.
