The Maker's Mark Bill Keightley Keeneland is a 90 Proof (45% ABV) limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon released in April 2002. This high-intent collectible bourbon honors the legendary University of Kentucky equipment manager Bill Keightley, affectionately known as "Mr. Wildcat," who served the program for 48 years. This charitable release was part of the annual partnership between the distillery and Keeneland, with proceeds benefiting the Bill Keightley Scholarship Fund at the University of Kentucky.
The technical presentation features a 1-Liter bottle with a signature blue and white wax seal and a specialized label depicting Keightley. Utilizing the distillery’s core wheated mash bill, this bottling was engineered specifically for the annual Keeneland Spring Meet bottle signing event. Maturation followed the traditional hand-rotated barrel aging process at the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. This release is a primary target for Big Blue Nation historians and collectors of rare, early sports-heritage spirits.
