Old Forester 117 Series Extra Extra Old (Batch 002) is a 93 Proof (46.5% ABV) straight bourbon produced at the Brown-Forman Shively Distillery (DSP-KY-354). This experimental release utilizes the classic 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mash bill. While the standard 1910 expression is double-barreled for 6–9 months, this "Extra Extra Old" variant underwent a significantly extended secondary maturation in a second, heavily charred oak container.
This prolonged exposure in heat-cycled warehouses produces a hyper-concentrated profile of dark chocolate, maple syrup, and intense wood smoke, resulting in a thick, oily mouthfeel without the use of chill filtration.
