Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series The Lost Recipes No. 02 is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. This 2025 release continues the Lost Recipes sub-series, secondary-matured with a 10-stave kit of 3 Baked American Pure 2, 4 Maker's Mark 46, and 3 Roasted French Mocha staves - again featuring the Mocha stave retired from the Private Selection program in early 2021.

Maker's Mark's Wood Finishing Series uses 10 custom toasted-French-oak staves inserted into fully matured cask-strength whisky for a secondary maturation. The Lost Recipes sub-series revisits retired stave recipes from Maker's Private Selection archives - combinations that were taken out of the active program and are no longer available to private-pick customers. All releases use the signature Maker's Mark wheated mash bill of 70% corn, 16% soft red winter wheat, and 14% malted barley, are non-chill filtered, and are bottled at the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky under Suntory Global Spirits.

On the nose, it shows roasted coffee beans, dark cocoa, warm oak, vanilla, and a soft note of dried fruit. The palate brings espresso, toasted almond, molasses, and charred oak supported by the wheated mash bill's creamy sweetness, with caramelized sugar and baking spice through the mid-palate, and the finish carries a long close of mocha, vanilla bean, and seasoned wood.

Compared with No. 01, the stave kit shifts the bourbon toward a coffee-and-cocoa profile while the Maker's Mark 46 staves layer in a deeper oak structure. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
