Expresiones del Corazón Weller 12 Year is an 80 proof (40% ABV) limited-release produced at NOM 1103 (Casa San Matías) in Jalisco, Mexico. This 100% Blue Weber single-estate agave spirit is harvested from the Los Altos highlands, slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens for 48 hours, and double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills.
Technical maturation for the 2024 collection involves aging for exactly 26 months in barrels that previously held Weller 12 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon for over a decade. This wood interaction with wheated bourbon casks imparts a technical profile defined by toasted vanilla, baked agave, and almond nougat on the nose, with a silky palate of caramel, dark chocolate, and seasoned oak followed by a long, warming finish of vanilla-spice.
