Corazón Expresiones Old 22 is an 80 proof (40% ABV) limited-release produced at NOM 1103 (Casa San Matías) in Jalisco, Mexico. This expression is a single-estate tequila crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested from the Los Altos highlands. The agave is slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens for 48 hours before being double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills.
Technical maturation for this release involves resting the spirit for at least 22 months in barrels that previously held Buffalo Trace bourbon for a minimum of 22 years. This specific wood interaction imparts a technical profile defined by cooked agave and toasted almond on the nose, with a palate of smooth caramel, vanilla, and dark chocolate followed by a warming finish of oak and light ginger.
