Expresiones del Corazón Elmer T. Lee is an 80 proof (40% ABV) limited-release produced at NOM 1103 (Casa San Matías) in Jalisco, Mexico. Released in late 2021 as part of the seventh installment of the collection, this expression is a 100% Blue Weber single-estate agave spirit harvested from the Los Altos highlands. The agave is slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens for 48 hours and double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills.
Technical maturation for this release involves aging for exactly 12 months in barrels that previously matured Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This wood interaction introduces a technical profile defined by toasted almond and cinnamon on the nose, with a smooth, lightly sweet palate of cooked agave, vanilla bean, and chocolate followed by a long, warm finish with lingering oak spice.
