Cascahuin 55-25 Special Edition is an Anejo Tequila from Tequila Cascahuin in El Arenal, Jalisco, Mexico. This 2025 release is a blend of 90 percent tequila aged twelve months in ex-Sherry casks and 10 percent Cascahuin 48 Month Anejo, bottled at 88 proof, additive-free.
The "55-25" name marks a 70-year span tied to the Rosales family's modern Cascahuin era - the duality of 1955 and 2025 - and the release also celebrates 25 years since the family's first traditional Anejo bottled in 1999. Production uses 100 percent Blue Weber agave harvested in 2017, slow-cooked 72 hours in traditional stone ovens, extracted via roller mill, fermented open-air, and double-distilled in copper pot stills before the Sherry-cask aging.
On the nose, it shows roasted agave layered with dried stone fruit, baking spice, and oxidative Sherry notes. The palate brings buttered toffee, dark chocolate, roasted agave, and elegant Sherry character, and the finish carries a long, rich, buttery close.
The Sherry-cask base plus the 10 percent splash of 48-month Anejo gives the blend more depth than its 12-month age statement suggests. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
