Orphan Barrel Woven Honor is a 92.6 Proof (46.3% ABV) single malt Scotch whisky produced as a limited release from the Linkwood Distillery. This 2024 expression is distilled from 100% malted barley in traditional copper pot stills, following the Speyside distillery's historic focus on a "non-interference" philosophy to preserve the spirit's delicate character. The liquid underwent 18 years of maturation in refill and charred American oak barrels, formerly used for bourbon, which allowed for a refined integration of wood sugars without overwhelming the base distillate.
This extended aging process yields a silky, medium-bodied profile defined by grassy floral notes, green apple, and lemon zest. These primary flavors are balanced by an undercurrent of honeycomb and vanilla, finishing with a moderate oak spice and a hint of dried ginger.
