Tequila Ocho Old Fitzgerald Barrel Select Anejo is an Anejo Tequila from Tequilera Los Alambiques in Arandas, Jalisco Highlands, Mexico. This 2025 release rested twelve months in freshly-emptied Old Fitzgerald 10 Year Bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill's Spring 2023 Decanter Series, bottled at 96 proof, additive-free.

The Old Fitzgerald program paired Tequila Ocho with one of Kentucky's most storied wheated-bourbon labels, with two single-field 2023 vintages released simultaneously - one from Rancho Corralillos and one from Rancho Potrero Grande. The fresh-pull Old Fitzgerald 10 Year casks carried wheated bourbon residue into the tequila rest, giving the Anejo a softer, more pastry-like spice profile than rye-recipe ex-bourbon casks would. Production follows Tequila Ocho's traditional methods at NOM 1474: 100 percent fully-mature Blue Weber agave from a single named Camarena rancho, brick-oven slow cooking, roller mill extraction, open-air fermentation, and double distillation in small copper pot stills. The release was capped at 3,200 cases for the US market.

On the nose, it shows cooked agave layered with toasted coconut, dried cherry, dark chocolate, a whisper of wheat, maple syrup, and roasted pineapple. The palate brings coffee, toffee, toasted oak, orange peel, and rich cacao, and the finish carries a long, oak-forward close.

The wheated Old Fitzgerald casks plus the 96-proof bottling make this one of the most cask-forward Anejos in the Tequila Ocho catalog. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
