The Hedonism Wines pick draws from one single American oak barrel of Fortaleza Reposado, set aside specifically for the retailer's exclusive collection alongside their similarly selected bourbon, Scotch, and rare-spirit picks. Production follows Fortaleza's traditional methods at NOM 1493: 100 percent estate Blue Weber agave, brick-oven slow cooking, tahona stone-wheel extraction, open-air wooden vat fermentation, and double distillation in small copper pot stills.
On the nose, it shows roasted agave layered with vanilla, toasted oak, and caramel sweetness. The palate brings cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, and subtle oak from the single-barrel American oak rest, and the finish carries a clean, balanced close.
As a single-barrel pull, each bottle reflects the specific character of one cask rather than the blended consistency of the core Reposado. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
