Corazon Expresiones Weller CYPB Reposado is part of the Buffalo Trace barrel-aged tequila series from Corazon de Agave. This small-batch release rests Casa San Matias' Highland reposado tequila for at least 9 months in barrels that previously held W.L. Weller C.Y.P.B. - the "Craft Your Perfect Bourbon" wheated bourbon developed by Buffalo Trace with input from the Bourbon Hunters community. Bottled at 80 proof / 40% ABV with a 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave mash.

Expresiones del Corazon is a collaboration between Corazon Tequila and Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. Buffalo Trace empties barrels from its most allocated American whiskey programs - including the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection - and ships the freshly emptied casks to Casa San Matias in Acatic, Los Altos de Jalisco. Corazon fills each barrel with its Highland Jalisco anejo or reposado tequila and rests the spirit in the residual whiskey compounds that have soaked into the wood through years of prior maturation. The filled barrels are stored in the first row of the aging facility - the level with the most controlled airflow - and tasted every two months until the desired character is reached.

Corazon Tequila is distilled at Casa San Matias, Mexico's fourth-oldest tequila distillery (NOM 1103), with more than 130 years of continuous production. The base tequila is 100% Highland Blue Weber agave, slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens, then pressed, fermented, and copper-pot-still distilled.

The C.Y.P.B. donor barrels are the only Buffalo Trace wheated bourbon program designed by enthusiasts: 95% Mash #2 wheated, 12 years aged, in the #4 char level, from Warehouse K floor 4 - the exact specs Bourbon Hunters voters chose in 2014. Those specs translate to a softer, more dessert-leaning donor wood character, which Corazon Expresiones Weller CYPB Reposado carries forward as a clean, vanilla-and-mint-driven profile rather than the heavier oak of long-aged bourbon finishes.

On the nose, it shows bright citrus, fresh mint, ginger, vanilla bean, and light caramel. The palate brings smooth, balanced cooked agave layered with dry fruit, baking spices, butterscotch, and gentle oak, and the finish carries a clean, lingering close with minty freshness, subtle pepper, and toasted wood.
