Wine Details:

Professional critics have awarded this wine near-perfect scores, praising its intensity and aging potential.

  • Antonio Galloni (Vinous): 100 Points. Galloni describes it as a "sensational wine" that saturates the palate with dense dark fruit, leather, and tobacco, noting its elite textural richness.
  • The Wine Independent: 98 Points. Reviewers highlight notes of crème de cassis, black plums, and crushed rocks, characterized by fine-grained tannins and "wonderful tension".
  • Wine Spectator: 96 Points. Noted for its solid core of blackberry and boysenberry reduction with accents of licorice and walnut husk.
  • James Suckling: 97 Points , Wow, so pretty, delicious and luxurious to sip. This gorgeous, spicy, ripe and creamy wine offers soft, melted tannins and generous red and black fruit flavors. A silky texture integrates with dark chocolate, macerated cherries, creme de cassis, black cherries, cocoa and milk chocolate in the lingering finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2029.
  • Vineyard Source: Sourced from the M-Bar Ranch in western Oakville, an elite site located near Vine Hill Ranch and Missouri Hopper.
  • Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • Aging: Aged for approximately 22 months in roughly 85% new oak barrels.
  • Drinking Window: While approachable now with a significant decant (2-4 hours), experts suggest it will continue to improve for 20+ years, with a prime window often cited between 2027 and 2043.
