William Larue Weller 2015 is a 134.6 Proof barrel-strength wheated bourbon distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery (DSP-KY-113). This landmark edition was distilled in the spring of 2003 and matured for 12 years and 3 months in new charred American white oak barrels (#4 char). The spirit was aged on the 2nd and 6th floors of Warehouses I, K, and L, microclimates that facilitated a technical evaporation loss of 72.3%—concentrating the wood sugars and essential oils into a dense, high-viscosity structural framework.
Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the technical profile is defined by a massive, oily texture and a deep concentration of dark fruit esters. It delivers potent notes of caramel corn, new leather, and plums, transitioning into a palate of marshmallow and salted almonds that persists through a smooth, flavorfully sweet finish.
