Eagle Rare 17 Year Old 2014 is a 90 Proof technical allocation from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, distilled at DSP-KY-113 using the distillery's signature Low-Rye Mashbill #1. Distilled in the spring of 1993, this spirit underwent 19 years of maturation in new charred American white oak, significantly exceeding the 17-year age statement. This vintage is technically distinguished by its aging on the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th floors of Warehouses I and K, where the varied microclimate facilitated a 54.9% evaporation loss.
This concentration of the "angel's share" yielded a dense, high-viscosity structural framework while maintaining the refined elegance of the 90-proof era. The technical profile is defined by a deep saturation of wood sugars and vanillins, delivering a "polished" profile of toasted oak, antique leather, and dark chocolate, underpinned by signature notes of dried cherry and tobacco.
