Jack Daniel's Tennessee Tasters Selection No. 001 High Angel's Share Barrels is the historic inaugural release of the distillery's experimental 375ml line, debuted in 2018. Selected by Master Taster Chris Fletcher, this expression was crafted as a technical study on extreme high-floor warehouse maturation. The liquid was pulled from a specific lot of barrels barreled in January 2013 that experienced an exceptionally high rate of evaporation loss—the "angel's share"—due to their prolonged placement on the uppermost levels of the Lynchburg rickhouses.
This high-heat microclimate accelerated wood interaction and concentrated the spirit into a dense, high-viscosity structural framework. Bottled at a robust 107 proof, the technical profile is defined by a deep saturation of wood sugars and oak tannins, delivering concentrated layers of dark molasses, brown sugar, burnt caramel, and dark stone fruits, balanced by a heavy, char-kissed oak finish.
