Fortaleza Lot 150B Blanco Tequila 750ml

Fortaleza Blanco Lot 150-B is a Blanco Tequila from Destileria La Fortaleza in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. This commemorative release marks the 150th bottling run of Fortaleza Blanco since Guillermo Erickson Sauza re-fired the family's 1903 boiler in 2005, bottled at 80 proof, additive-free.

Lot 150-B is the first Fortaleza Blanco to ferment the mosto with the bagazo - the cooked, crushed agave fiber - rather than separating it out before fermentation. The fiber-on technique, common in mezcal but rarely used in modern tequila production, pulls additional agave character and texture into the spirit. The release was also distilled directly to 40 percent ABV with no water cut, the same no-proof-down approach used on Lot 100B. Production otherwise follows Fortaleza's traditional methods at NOM 1493: 100 percent estate Blue Weber agave, brick-oven slow cooking, tahona stone-wheel extraction, double distillation in small copper pot stills, and a hand-blown bottle made in Mexico.

On the nose, it shows vibrant citrus layered with rich cooked agave, butter, olive, and earth. The palate brings concentrated agave with a slightly creamy mouthfeel from the bagazo, vanilla, basil, lime, and gentle brine, and the finish carries a long, mineral close.

The fiber-on fermentation plus the no-water-cut distillation make Lot 150-B one of the most textured Blancos Fortaleza has ever released. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
