2018 Clase Azul Dia de los Muertos is an early annual Day of the Dead release in the Clase Azul Tequila lineup - one of the bottles that established the brand's now-iconic Dia de los Muertos tradition. The 2018 release is a Joven blend incorporating an aged reposado component, bottled at 80 proof / 40% ABV with a 100% organic Highland Blue Weber agave mash, presented in a hand-painted ceramic decanter rendered with traditional Day of the Dead motifs.

Clase Azul Tequila is produced at Productos Finos de Agave (NOM 1416) in Jesus Maria, Los Altos de Jalisco - the Highland tequila region. Founded by Arturo Lomeli in 1997, Clase Azul is one of the most recognizable artisan tequila brands in the world, known as much for what's inside the bottle as for the bottle itself: each iconic hand-painted ceramic Clase Azul decanter is shaped, fired, and painted by hand by more than 100 artisans in the village of Santa Maria Canchesda, Mexico.

The Clase Azul Dia de los Muertos series is the brand's annual hand-painted ceramic tribute to the Mexican Day of the Dead - Mexico's most iconic celebration of life, memory, and the cycle that connects the living and the departed. Each annual release carries a distinct decanter design, a specific tequila profile, and a small production run aimed squarely at collectors of Clase Azul limited editions.

The 2018 release sits at the very early end of the formal Dia de los Muertos program - several years before Clase Azul launched the five-part Nuestros Recuerdos series in 2021 (Sabores, Colores, Aromas, Musica, Recuerdos). Documentation on early-run production counts is limited, but the bottle was kept small to match the program's collectible intent. The hand-painted ceramic decanter honors the Mexican tradition with the floral, calavera, and ofrenda imagery that would carry across subsequent Dia de los Muertos editions.

On the nose, it shows caramel, vanilla, oak, and a touch of spice softened by agave sweetness. The palate brings smooth, complex caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, honey, and gentle spice, balanced by the natural sweetness of the agave, and the finish carries a long, warming close with lingering oak, vanilla, and agave.
