Clase Azul The Loft Brooklyn Collection I is the inaugural release of The Loft Brooklyn Collection - a New York City-exclusive Anejo program from Clase Azul Tequila developed through The Loft, the brand's experiential art platform in Brooklyn. The Collection I Anejo is aged 25 months in American whiskey barrels and finished in casks of French Calvados (Norman apple brandy), bottled at 80 proof / 40% ABV with a 100% Highland Blue Weber agave mash. Limited to 1,000 hand-numbered 1-liter ceramic decanters, sold invite-only at The Loft and Clase Azul boutiques in New York.
Clase Azul Tequila is produced at Productos Finos de Agave (NOM 1416) in Jesus Maria, Los Altos de Jalisco - the Highland tequila region. Founded by Arturo Lomeli in 1997, Clase Azul is one of the most recognizable artisan tequila brands in the world, known as much for what's inside the bottle as for the bottle itself: each iconic hand-painted ceramic Clase Azul decanter is shaped, fired, and painted by hand by more than 100 artisans in the village of Santa Maria Canchesda, Mexico.
The Collection I decanter is built around a visual tribute to New York's architectural skyline: hand-painted verdigris-green brushstrokes evoke the silhouette of the Chrysler Building's iconic crown, and a hammered copper cap reads as the transformation of NYC's architectural landscape across the city's history. The decanter is produced in collaboration with local Brooklyn artists through The Loft program.
On the nose, it shows roasted agave layered with cocoa nibs, toasted oak, and dried fruit. The palate brings velvety, rich agave with vanilla, caramel, orange zest, and sweet tobacco, and the Calvados-cask finish brings warm baking spice and lingering apple character. The finish carries a long, smooth close.
