2023 Clase Azul Dia de los Muertos - Aromas is the third installment of the five-part "Nuestros Recuerdos" series from Clase Azul Tequila - a five-year program (2021-2025) dedicated to the most distinctive facets of Dia de Muertos. The 2023 Aromas release is an Anejo tequila aged 25 months in American whiskey casks and finished in French Armagnac casks under the direction of Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco. Bottled at 80 proof / 40% ABV with a 100% organic Highland Blue Weber agave mash. Limited to 3,500 hand-numbered bottles worldwide.

Clase Azul Tequila is produced at Productos Finos de Agave (NOM 1416) in Jesus Maria, Los Altos de Jalisco - the Highland tequila region. Founded by Arturo Lomeli in 1997, Clase Azul is one of the most recognizable artisan tequila brands in the world, known as much for what's inside the bottle as for the bottle itself: each iconic hand-painted ceramic Clase Azul decanter is shaped, fired, and painted by hand by more than 100 artisans in the village of Santa Maria Canchesda, Mexico, and finished with platinum, silver, and 24-karat gold detail on the higher-end expressions.

The Clase Azul Dia de los Muertos series is the brand's annual hand-painted ceramic tribute to the Mexican Day of the Dead - Mexico's most iconic celebration of life, memory, and the cycle that connects the living and the departed. Each annual release carries a distinct decanter design, a specific tequila profile, and a small production run aimed squarely at collectors of Clase Azul limited editions.

The Aromas theme honors the central role of scent in the Mexican Dia de Muertos altar - the cempasuchil blossom whose aroma is believed to guide the spirits home, the copal incense, the pan de muerto, the toasted chocolate of the offerings. The 1-liter ceramic decanter wears a deep marigold glaze that darkens to the base, with 24-karat gold accents and an evocative back-of-bottle illustration showing folkloric characters and xoloitzcuintles (the traditional Mexican hairless dogs of the underworld) harvesting cempasuchil flowers.

On the nose, it shows peach, walnut, and toasted wood from the dual-maturation. The palate brings clove and cacao layered over rich aged agave, and the finish carries a long, warming close with a cinnamon-driven finale.
