2021 Clase Azul Dia de los Muertos - Sabores is the first installment of the five-part "Nuestros Recuerdos" series from Clase Azul Tequila, a five-year program (2021-2025) dedicated to the most distinctive facets of Dia de Muertos: flavors (Sabores), colors, aromas, music, and memories. The 2021 release is an Anejo aged over 14 months in American whiskey casks and first-use American oak casks at light and medium char - and the first Clase Azul tequila ever produced as a Single Estate Agave Tequila, with all of the Blue Weber agave sourced exclusively from El Cerro del Viboreo, a small mountain in Los Altos de Jalisco. Bottled at 80 proof / 40% ABV.

Clase Azul Tequila is produced at Productos Finos de Agave (NOM 1416) in Jesus Maria, Los Altos de Jalisco - the Highland tequila region. Founded by Arturo Lomeli in 1997, Clase Azul is one of the most recognizable artisan tequila brands in the world, known as much for what's inside the bottle as for the bottle itself: each iconic hand-painted ceramic Clase Azul decanter is shaped, fired, and painted by hand by more than 100 artisans in the village of Santa Maria Canchesda, Mexico, and finished with platinum, silver, and 24-karat gold detail on the higher-end expressions.

The Clase Azul Dia de los Muertos series is the brand's annual hand-painted ceramic tribute to the Mexican Day of the Dead - Mexico's most iconic celebration of life, memory, and the cycle that connects the living and the departed. Each annual release carries a distinct decanter design, a specific tequila profile, and a small production run aimed squarely at collectors of Clase Azul limited editions.

The Sabores theme honors the central role of food and flavor in the Mexican Dia de Muertos altar - pan de muerto, mole, chocolate, fruit, and the offerings family members place on the ofrenda to welcome the dead. The decanter is a black ceramic design with 24-karat gold accents and Day of the Dead imagery rendered through the lens of gastronomy.

On the nose, it shows candied orange peel, agave syrup, almond, citrus, clove, roasted coffee, and orange blossom. The palate brings rich agave wrapped in baking spice, dried fruit, and gentle oak, and the finish carries a long, prolonged orange-peel close.
