Orphan Barrel Copper Tongue is an 89.8 Proof (44.9% ABV) straight bourbon produced as a limited release from the George Dickel Distillery (Cascade Hollow). Unlike many Tennessee-produced spirits, this bourbon was selected from specific barrels that bypassed the Lincoln County charcoal filtration process, resulting in a more traditional Kentucky-style profile.
The liquid underwent 16 years of maturation in the single-story rickhouses at Cascade Hollow, where the cooler, temperate climate allowed for a gradual and balanced wood-spirit interaction. This extended aging process yields a mellow, sophisticated profile characterized by juicy plums, toasted almonds, and vanilla bean, finished with a subtle hint of cedar and soft baking spices.
