The tale of Lone Whisker began a dozen years ago with a crash
and a bang along Kentucky’s storied Bourbon Trail, Route 127.
As they embarked down the trail, John Schwartz and Kent
Jarman en- countered the catalyst for their own 12-year, barrel aged, Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey.
The recipe blend of 74% corn, 21% rye and 5% malted barley,
proofed at 93.8, is as smooth as bourbon comes. Aromatically,
elements of corn, malty sweetness, and candied citrus seep out
of the tumbler, quickly followed by hints of cocoa laced with
dried currants, creme brulee and butterscotch tones. The
palate offers a refined, integrated oak nuance with balanced
caramel, darker dried fruit and a touch of vanilla taffy.
