The 2022 Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore is the newest release from one of the founding estates of the Super Tuscan movement, grown on the maritime hills of Bolgheri on Tuscany's coast. A Cabernet Sauvignon-led Bordeaux blend completed with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it shows the generosity of a warm, dry season balanced by the estate's hallmark refinement: ripe cassis and dark plum, a graphite-and-tobacco edge, and silky, finely drawn tannins carrying a long finish. Young and built for the cellar, it will reward a decade or more of patience and ranks among the most collectible reds of its vintage.
