Tequila Ocho Arte Huichol Reposado is a Reposado Tequila from Tequilera Los Alambiques in Arandas, Jalisco Highlands, Mexico. This limited edition presents the core Ocho Reposado - eight weeks and eight days in ex-American whiskey barrels, bottled at 80 proof, additive-free - in a hand-crafted Wixarika (Huichol) art bottle.
The Arte Huichol bottle is a tribute to the Wixarika (Huichol) people of the Sierra Madre, wrapped in hand-applied beadwork and yarn art telling spiritual narratives in color. Each pattern is imbued with sacred symbolism representing prayers, visions, and the Wixarika connection to nature, the sun, and ancestral tradition. The liquid inside is the standard Ocho expression - single-estate, additive-free, made at NOM 1474 by master distiller Carlos Camarena - presented in a collectible art-object format.
Tequila Ocho was founded by Carlos Camarena - third-generation tequilero at the Camarena family's Tequilera Los Alambiques in Arandas, Jalisco Highlands (NOM 1474) - in collaboration with the late British spirits writer Tomas Estes. Ocho was the first tequila to label both the year of production and the specific single estate ("rancho") where the agave was grown, treating tequila as a terroir-driven, single-vineyard-style spirit. Production follows traditional methods: 100 percent fully-mature Blue Weber agave from a single named rancho, brick-oven slow cooking, roller mill extraction, open-air fermentation, and double distillation in small copper pot stills - all additive-free.
On the nose, it shows cooked agave layered with vanilla, citrus peel, light oak, and herbal notes. The palate brings sweet agave, gentle oak spice, and bright citrus, and the finish carries a clean, balanced close.
The Arte Huichol Reposado pairs Ocho's terroir-driven liquid with one of Mexico's most distinctive folk-art traditions. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
